What does being a member of 513 mean to Tonya?
I am thankful to be a part of something special. A unified force is able to negotiate better wages, better health insurance, and having a safer work environment. A path has been paved for me and I want to help continue that legacy not only to our members but to my family.
What does an Auditor do for 513?
My position is to make sure we have checks and balances within our chapter of our expenditures. I, along with other members meet with our office manager/accountant, Angel, to go over the quarterly expenses. We have further discussions if anything arises that needs to be talked about.
How did Tonya get started with 513?
I had taken interest in the construction industry early in life. When I had seen a female on a piece of equipment, it made my decision clear at what path I wanted to take. I was able to approach her and attained the signup information.

I believe my biggest accomplishment is the time I have dedicated over the last 20 years to Local 513 through my active membership. I am also honored to be the first woman to hold a position in Local 513.
Tonya has been married to her husband Marvin for 20 years and has two boys. Tonya grew up in Jefferson City and now resides in Union.
